Teaching Philosophy
As a H2 Math tutor, it is not uncommon to see students doing badly in H2 Math and not surprisingly, they hate it. However when you delve deeper, often you will realize that they actually did pretty well in Math, and even liked the subject in primary school. We all know that parents are their kids’ best teachers and at primary school level, usually the kids learn a lot (including their academic studies) from their parents. But as they progress, their academic work will be too much or too complicated for their parents (unless their parents are teachers themselves), thus, they can only rely on their school teachers. As such, we tend to see that the grades start to deteriorate after primary school. Hence, it is important for us to address this pressing issue.
I always believe that every student is capable of scoring A for Math.
What a failing student need is not more practice nor a good teacher, but the right teacher.
A good student knows what to ask his teacher but the right teacher will know what questions the good student did not ask. Every student is different. Some can absorb complicated concepts easily while other may need another teaching approach in order to grasp the concepts. Frequently, I see myself having to teach numerous concepts in 2 to 3 different approaches in order to get the entire class on the same page.
Continuous assessment tests are conducted frequently to ensure everyone is learning at the same pace as we progress. Students can arrange to see me for consultation when they encounter difficulties in their assignments. Essential H2 Math notes and stimulation software are used to facilitate the learning experience and recommended practice questions are given to students for greater exposure in their learning journey.
To many of my students signing up for H2 Math tuition, I am seen as an approachable H2 Math teacher and my teaching style is constantly changing and improving to suit the different needs of my students. I believe this is how a teacher should learn and improve his teaching skills. One of my greatest strengths, and I believe almost all my students would agree on, will be to explain a really complicated Math problem in a really simple way. This is why I feel that…
Teaching is not my career, teaching is my calling.
Try my H2 math tuition classes now and let me unlock your fullest potential.

Our Values
The 180 degrees Difference

At One Eighty Degrees, our logo tells a story of transformation. At its heart lies the iconic π (pi) symbol, a universal emblem of Mathematics, reflecting our sole focus on mastering the subject. Embedded within π are the letters J and C, signifying our commitment to Junior College (JC) H2 Math education. But π represents more than just numbers; it symbolizes 180 degrees—a complete transformation. We believe that every student has the potential to make a 180-degree shift, not just in their attitude towards math but in their grades—from an F to an A, unlocking their fullest potential. This is the essence of our tagline: “Where transFormAtion begins.” With an arrow guiding the journey from F to A, our logo embodies the promise of growth, confidence, and success. A true Mathematical metamorphosis.
Join us, and let’s redefine the way you see H2 Math—one degree at a time.
Origins
Our story
How it all began
Chu Wei’s ambition was to be an engineer.
Chu Wei entered junior college (JC), where he took Further Mathematics, and later pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Coming from a humble family background, he began tutoring primary-level Mathematics while in Secondary 4 to support himself and alleviate some of his family’s financial burden.
In 2005, he became a H2 Math tutor. His talent for simplifying complex H2 Math concepts and helping students achieve significant improvements led to a rapid increase in the number of students he tutored during his time at University. The demand became so overwhelming that he occasionally skipped classes to conduct tuition sessions. After graduating from NTU, Chu Wei began his career as an Engineer at Carrier Singapore. Despite his full-time job, he continued tutoring after work and on weekends due to the consistently high demand for his teaching.
In 2012, he was given an opportunity to start his own tuition centre. Realising his commitment to education and dedication to students, he took it.
Fuelled by a strong passion to be the best h2 math tutor to his students, he furthered his education by enrolling in NIE and Harvard, and was conferred the degree of Master of Science (Mathematics for Educators) and Higher Education Teaching Certificate.
Rebranding in 2025, with 20 years of tutoring experience and counting, Chu Wei continues to help countless students achieve their dreams.
