During lessons he makes sure to acquaint us with different approaches to solve the same question and also emphasises the most elegant solution. When I found it challenging to keep myself motivated, Mr Lim made sure I did one question a day and marked it and gave feedback as well

What sets him apart from other teachers is that Mr Lim is very meticulous and genuinely cares a lot for his students - this can be seen as he would always stay back after classes to interact with us on a personal level, and sometimes he would check on our wellbeing if we are doing alright. Every interaction with him is authentic, and every lesson consisted of a perfect balance of work and enjoyment. My grades jumped from a ‘U’ to an ‘A’ during my prelims in a mere span of 3 months!!

I was very behind on my math, getting consistent Us and was struggling to even pay attention in math classes in school. At that point I barely had any motivation left. Mr Lim even goes out of his way to make sure that I was following in lessons, so much so that I actually started improving and saw that there was still hope in improving my math grade.

Mr Lim is a really dedicated teacher in many ways that I will be eternally grateful for. In class, he's extremely knowledgeable pertaining to mathematics concepts and skills, and is really interactive in teaching us. He is also someone who clearly knows the education and examining system well, and accurately spots questions like a magician (including the actual A level questions).

Every one of his lessons was thoughtfully crafted and questions were curated and planned to teach us different concepts, and values, each lesson. Mr Lim's tutorials, granted were freakishly challenging, often making us question if it was just to demoralize us, but looking back now, I’m grateful he exposed us to such questions. It taught me the value of precision, care and that no matter how impossible it may seem, it was always within us to be able to solve what was thrown our way.

Before, when I was with another tuition centre, I always believed that math questions were always fixed and standard and thus I constantly adopted fixed templates of certain formulas to answer the question. However, through Mr Lim’s lessons, I managed to break out of the rigid mindset I always used when answering math questions as he helped me to realise that math questions required flexibility when applying different kind of concepts.

But the main reason why I'd recommend 180h2math to everyone out there is because Mr Lim built my confidence from ground up in the subject by giving me the hardest questions from each topic to do. Instead of spending hours doing all the practice questions in revision papers, doing the hand-picked set of questions given by Mr Limi will prepare you for any exam in a very short period of time.

Mr Lim is possibly one of the smartest JC math tutors out there in Singapore, but more importantly he isn't just one of the best teacher - he IS the best. He explains concepts really easily and has an excellent knowledge on the subject matter, all whilst being a caring teacher who has students' interests and improvement as his top priority.

Mr Lim's classes are made to suit the pace of each student, and even if you’re very confused he will patiently stay back to explain everything until you understand. The questions he gives are very challenging and will train you intensely for answering A Level qns. He’s not only a good teacher, but also an understanding, friendly and humorous person who will make learning fun!

Taking a national exam during the pandemic was stressful enough, and Mr Lim understood that and took every method possible to ease this stress. He was there 24/7 to answer my math questions and sent me the workings to all the questions I had. He also explained to me why my method wasn't correct or why it wasn't the most efficient way.

Math was a traumatising subject for me due to the consistent poor grades in secondary school. By injecting humour in his lessons, Mr Lim shattered the tone of monotony in my math lessons. His swift replies when enquiries were made on Whatsapp were crucial in the bolstering of my math grades. By CTs, prelims and A levels, A was a guarantee

Mr. Lim's tutorials were definitely challenging, and there were definitely questions which I struggled to solve. However, these challenging questions had a purpose - they were adapted from the past A levels higher order questions, and aimed to prep us to be able to master the harder questions A level throws at us.

I went for the crash course, and Mr Lim's explanations and funny conversations with students in class really helped make learning math much more fun. With hot towels and free snacks or drinks given out during breaks, as well as a spin the wheel question every lesson, I was kept on my toes and managed to stay awake doing math (difficulty level previously impossible) and started enjoying the experience

I liked how he promoted understanding over rote memories took of formulas, especially for vectors. Mr Lim would also give us tests from time to time and sometimes give us diabolical qns to really test our understanding. I attended math tuition throughout my JC years and because of the tuition I didn’t struggle much with math and it was consistently my best subject.

... but there are many proficient, excellent, outstanding and overqualified (of which Mr Lim is all of the above) tutors out there. But perhaps there are only a handful that are as tactical and analytical as Mr Lim, as seen by his comprehensive a level math qn trend analysis you'll get towards the start of A levels.
